PRP, PRF, & PRFM: What to Expect from Treatment?

PRFM is a natural, autologous (derived from your own body) bio-stimulating filler that uses platelet-rich fibrin (PRF) to promote tissue healing and collagen production.

BENEFITS:

  • Natural and Safe: uses your own body’s resources, minimizing the risk of allergic reactions.

  • Skin Rejuvenation: improves skin tone, texture, and elasticity.

  • Aesthetic Concerns: Reduces the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, sunken under eyes, and facial volume loss.

  • Versatile: can be used to treat a variety of concerns

  • Minimal Downtime: injections are minimally invasive, with limited downtime and recovery time.

  • Long-lasting Results: stimulates collagen production for natural, long-term skin improvements.

Before Treatment:

  • Drink lots of water the day before treatment so you are well hydrated.

  • Avoid blood thinners, including alcohol and medications, for seven days before treatment as these medications can affect your platelets.

During Treatment:

  • A small amount of blood is drawn and placed in a centrifuge to separate the blood components to isolate the PRF. After spinning, the resulting liquid or gel is concentrated in platelets and fibrin and is packed with growth factors.

  • The PRFM matrix can be: 1) used in microneedling procedures, or 2) injected into the skin. The growth factors in the PRF stimulate natural healing, collagen production, and improved skin texture.

After Treatment:

  • Injection-site redness, swelling, and bruising may occur but is self-limited.

  • The risk of allergic reactions is very low as it is an autologous product.

  • There is no downtime or significant restrictions after PRFM treatments.

  • For optimal results, a series of 3-4 treatments is performed every 4-6 weeks with biannual or yearly refresher treatments to maintain your results.

  • PRFM results continue to improve over weeks and can last up to a year.
